  • When did you start at LW?
I started at Landscape Workshop August 6th, 2018.
  • Tell us about your role.
As a Floriculture Field Manager, I am responsible for organizing planting and maintenance of flowers at different job sites. I make sure each job site is visited each season by either their crew or another crew. I also communicate with crew members to make sure the job is done properly and visit local nurseries for plants.
  • Why did you choose to work at LW?
Every Landscape Workshop employee I met was so genuine and personable while I was interviewing with them in Auburn. The fact that they immediately gave me encouragement made Landscape Workshop my number one choice for my first post-college job.
  • What do you like best about the company or your job?
I like how understanding everyone is. You may not wake up on the right side of the bed each and every day, but we are all a team and have all been there. Teamwork makes the dream work!
  • If you could tell a recent grad one thing, what would it be?
Becoming an adult is stressful. Moving to a new place, paying bills, figuring things out for yourself (with a few calls to your parents), or just plain getting on your feet is not easy. Just know you are not alone. Find a roommate, call those loving parents of yours, maybe adopt a pet, and work for someone who values you as a person. Also, get plenty of sleep and eat a balanced diet. It will be okay!

  • Tell us about your role.
My career with Landscape Workshop started as an Enhancement Field Manager for Central Alabama out of our Irondale location. In this role, I was responsible for leading my crew in various enhancement projects, as well as heading up the bush hogging rotation around Central Alabama. After about 7 months of working as a Field Manager, I earned the promotion to Enhancements Manager for Central Alabama. I oversee the daily production of enhancement jobs, including safety, quality, managing costs, and scheduling. I also meet with clients regarding projects they would like to pursue and work with our team of Account Managers on estimating.
  • Why did you choose to work at LW?
Career growth and opportunity were the main reasons I decided to work at Landscape Workshop. Landscape Workshop showed me that they are a healthy and growing company. They are always looking for great talent to get in the door and advance their careers with hard work and dedication.
  • What do you like best about the company or your job?
My favorite thing about Landscape Workshop is the people. Everyone I interact with on a daily basis within our organization is professional and willing to help each other at any time. Great people create a great place to work. My favorite thing about my job is the ability to help or transform someone’s space. Whether it be a job to help a homeowner with a drainage issue on their property or a complete renovation on a commercial property, every project means something to the client, and I am proud to be a part of delivering the end result for them.
  • If you could tell a recent grad one thing, what would it be?
Look long-term at your career and consider how a company can help you get to where you want to go. Your career goals may change along the way, but being part of an organization that can offer you options and the ability to advance in your career is very important.
