The “It” Color of 2018

Did you know that Ultra Violet was named the official color of the year by the Pantone Color Institute? According to them, “Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” In honor of the color purple, we put together a few ways to add a violet splash to your landscape.

1. Scaevola: This purple beauty is the perfect way to brighten up your landscape. The low-growing, succulent annual is very drought tolerant once established. We suggest using it as a border to your annual beds or making a splash in your hanging baskets or containers.

2. Vitex: The Vitex, also known as the Chaste Tree, is a sun-loving deciduous tree that can grow to a height of 12 feet. Once established, the Vitex is very drought tolerant, but requires regular pruning. We think it’s worth the effort though – these purple blooms have us swooning all summer long.
