Landscape Workshop’s Construction Department recently completed a full landscape installation project for the new Hill Student Center on the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s campus. The project was originally designed by Macknally Land Design and awarded to Landscape Workshop to construct it.

This project of included multiple levels of construction work on the 162,000 square feet space and took a total of one month to complete. To make sure that the project was completed without any hazards (such as hitting drain pipes or power lines), we worked alongside Doster Construction through every step of the way to make sure everything was safe and secure during the landscape installation process.

Our crews began the project with fine grading the site to get the land into the final shape and compacted condition to prepare for seeding and planting. We planted numerous trees and shrubs throughout the area and then placed the finishing touches of sod and shredded pine bark along the roots of the plants.

The installation project turned out great, and we look forward to seeing the plants continue to grow and enhance the property throughout the year! Ready to get a peek of the campus’ new addition? The Hill Student Center officially opened it’s doors today!

Below are some pictures of our construction crew’s progress throughout the landscape installation:
