Birmingham intern Tripp Dunn hails from Mississippi State University, where he studies Landscape Architecture & Contracting. His can-do attitude, combined with his knowledge from the classroom, have allowed Tripp to excel in the field this summer. Account Manager Jeremy Comer elaborates, “Tripp has jumped in to be an active team player in every department he has worked in so far. Seeing everything he has learned in school come together to connect in the field has been an awesome experience for both of us.”

How did you become interested in the green industry?

I loved the outdoors and wanted to pursue a career with the option to be outside.

Why did you decide to intern with LW?

I wanted to see how a larger company ran on a daily basis.

What is a “typical” day like?

Getting to the shop and finding my crew. Then working with the crew throughout the day. I pay special attention to the field manager and the account manager to see what they do.

What have you enjoyed most in your internship so far?

Enhancements has been my favorite rotation. I like having big jobs that look good when I leave them.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned so far this summer?

Being able to leave your crew working while the field manager runs an errand is very important.
