Landscape Workshop recently joined forces with three of Birmingham’s largest companies to launch a new community initiative focused on beautifying and connecting the city. “Blooming Birmingham” evolved from a desire to provide families receiving care at Children’s of Alabama hospital with more walkable streets and to encourage foot traffic to nearby Railroad Park.

Over 100 volunteers from Regions Bank, Protective Life Corporation, Children’s of Alabama, and Landscape Workshop worked together to prepare and plant flower beds along 10 blocks connecting Children’s of Alabama to Railroad Park.  Assisted by local Master Gardeners, volunteers planted red and yellow pansies, tulips, and daffodils in nearly 100 beds along the Parkside District streets. The event ended with a group lunch in the park.

Landscape Workshop was honored to support Children’s of Alabama and participate in the event by providing plant materials and volunteer labor.  As CEO J.T. Price expressed, “The work Children’s does has impacted our employees and their children, including my children, in an incredibly positive way. Our McKinney Family ownership group and entire Landscape Workshop employee team are proud to be part of making the patient experience better by beautifying the Parkside District near campus.”
