The Intern Files: Jacob Ingram

Our intern spotlight today is on Jacob Ingram. We had the privilege of working with Jacob at our Birmingham branch. Here is what he had to say about his LW experience:

Major: Landscape Architecture/Landscape Contracting

Year in school: Rising Junior

Hometown: Pinson, AL

 

Why did you enter into this field of study?

I love being outdoors and interacting with other people. Also, I’ve always been drawn to landscaping because you usually get to see direct results from your work.

 

Why did you decide to intern with LW?

After interviewing with LW and a few other companies, it seemed like the LW internship would offer a wider variety of experiences.

 

What did you enjoy the most about your internship?

I enjoyed seeing the different sides of a landscaping business and getting hands-on experience with each part of the company. I also enjoyed the flexibility and getting to move from crew to crew.

 

What did you learn from your internship with LW?

I saw how important it is for different parts of a large business to come together to form a successful company.

 

What would you tell other students considering an internship with LW?

I highly recommend it because you really see the different parts of the company. Everyone, from what I could tell, works as a family and gets along, which is extremely important.
